On May 11, the SF Parks Alliance held their 2023 Public Space Summit at the new Southeast Community Center to bring together local community leaders and public space improvers to learn about fundraising for community organizations, implementing public art, navigating city permitting processes, and so much more!

Lila Travis and Katie Cariffe represented the De Haro Street Community Project and talked about our experiences and progress in a panel discussion. The De Haro Street Community Project was also nominated for the Up & Coming Award by the SF Parks Alliance.

Great News – we won the Award!

Up & Coming Award celebrates a community partner that joined the SF Parks Alliance Community Network within the last 3 years and has already taken their project to new heights through engaging the community, holding frequent events, or completing large-scale space improvements.

We are very happy and humbled by the award. We could not have done the work we did without the support of our neighbors, the community and the wonderful support staff at the SF Parks Alliance.
